Dr. Mohammad Faisal Uddin, Assistant Professor at the Department of CSE of IUB, and his team have developed a new method for early stage dental caries detection using smartphone images and a cutting-edge technology called Vision Transformer.
The team's research paper, titled "CaViT: Early Stage Dental Caries Detection from Smartphone-image using Vision Transformer," was recently presented at the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Control (AIRC 2023).
The CaViT technology utilizes advanced computer vision techniques to identify and analyze early-stage dental caries. With the help of CaViT, dental professionals will be able to diagnose dental caries at an early stage, leading to earlier treatment and prevention of more severe dental problems.
